'Glee’s' Creator Ryan Murphy Offered Millions By FOX
Glee’s Ryan Murphy Gets Paid...And how. Just a week after getting $5 million to write and direct another Julia Roberts rom-com, the man responsible for Glee signed a deal with Fox to make $24 million over the next four years to continue his work on the show. Even more lucratively, Murphy will have a percentage of the profits from the successful Glee tour, albums, and merchandise. And, if he wants, he can totally turn Glee into a Broadway musical and share in some of the profits from that as well! All in all, according to Deadline, he'll be making around $10 million a year, which is J.J. Abrams– and Seth MacFarlane–type money. Needless to say, he is now, more than ever, not accepting bribes from musicians desperate to be featured on upcoming episodes of his show.
