Angry What's With TV Land?

I know that commercials have to be shown so networks can make money, but TV Land takes it to the extreme when it comes to commercials. Yesterday, during a Starsky and Hutch episode, TV land ran 14 commercials in the first half hour and at one point , after coming back from a slew full of commercials, they showed 2 minutes of Starsky and Hutch and it was back to more commercials . In all 17 commercials were shown during this one hour show. I don't watch Nick at Nite that much and was wondering if they run as many commercials as TV Land does ?

Uh oh, I hope to God this isn't a sign that TV Land is going to end up like N @ N. Crosses fingers that this isn't the upcoming sign of the end of tvland.

An interesting tidbit:

Sometimes I record The A-Team on TV Land and it runs 42 minutes (maximum sometimes only 40) without commercials. Now when I tape Chips on TNT it varies from 45 to 48 minutes without commercials. Hmmm, I wonder who's showing less show and more commercials between the two.

Oh my God, the commericials. I am going to have a field day with this post. I notice with tvland they will commericial the Vanilla Sky movie and show another commericial of something, then show the Vanilla Sky commericial again. Everyday this happens. During every commericial break this happens. If they don't lighten the load on that VS commericial I will kick my tv in. I have a very bad temper, and it seems to get worse everytime I see that damn commericial. Yes, I know I'm crazy. Please somebody agree with me on this VS commericial.

Game Show Network is the same way!!!
They'll show dozens of Billy Mays,Wilford Brimley,Ms.Cleo and Bloussaint girl commercials!!!
I also hate the cream of wheat commercials along with my local ABC's continuous Friends commercial.

AHHHH!!!!! I AM SO SICK OF THAT MOVIE!!!

Anyway, TV Land does the same thing during Adam-12 episodes. Since I have to tape them to see them, I notice the commercials as I fast forward thru them. It's always AmeriDebt, that stupid adjustable bed, Jimmy Neutron, and VS. Save us all!

What I'm sick of is those Sears Commercials and the ones for Oxiclean. I've had enough of those 'you said you'd call today. I'll call later. Call now' commercial with that couple. All of these are played to death during fandemoniums. During one episode of "Starsky & Hutch" alone, I noticed around five of them.

I forgot the Oxiclean commercial! "Oxiclean- the stain specialist!" *thumbs up*

I'm also sick of the Pink Floyd commercial.

I wish that the FCC would go back to limiting the number of commercials that can be shown during a half hour or one hour show. Why this was dropped, I don't know but commercials are taking over and soon it will be that TV will no longer be fun to watch .

Sad

There are a lot of things on TV that are annoying to me these days. It is as if the stations have forgotten about us, the viewers (and consumers of advertised products). TV viewing has become a challenge these days. I find it annoying how so many of the stations scrunch the credits at the end. I also HATE the little icons that identify the station. Sometimes, they aren't too bad, but sometimes they are downright distracting. An example is TNN. I mean, theirs practically glows in the dark!

I also hate the black bar at the bottom of the channels. It is bad enough when they slap the name of the program you are watching, but when they scroll crap along the bottom also (usually plugging upcoming programming), I just change channels.

As for TV Land, they are becoming as bad as the rest. There are waaaayyyy to many commercials! And I HATE the ones where they yell. Like the Billy Mays (and he acts like I should know who he is) ones.

It is as if the show that is playing is an afterthought. It certainly isn't front-and-center like it used to be.

I know I have been reading more books lately than watching TV. I guess they must have an audience, but it sure isn't me anymore....
