Default One Day At A Time Series Finale - "Off We Go"

In the series finale of One Day at a Time, titled "Off We Go", which was aired on May 21, 1984, Ann gets a job offer in London, considers taking the job, and eventually accepts it. In the final scene of this episode, Ann looks back on the old apartment she has called home for nine years, a flashback is seen from the first episode, and then Ann walks out of the apartment for the final time. Very typical of a series finale.

This is the actual series finale of One Day at a Time. The show's creators should not have considered giving Dwayne Schneider a spinoff series.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

If I had written it, I would have given Barbara and Mark their miracle pregnancy. But because I'm not the sentimental type, in fictional season 10 it would have been born with a beard and turned out to be Maxs'.

I didnt see the finale last night because I fell asleep but I did watch it before. It was really sad especially when Scheinder was crying and he called her Ann and not Ms. Romano. That clip that they did show, that was from the first one?

Also, it kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing technically this wasnt the finale. They had that backdoor pilot for Scheinder. I think he acknowledges that Ann went to Paris.

OMG!!! I thought the same thing!!!! I think it would have been cool if Barbara did end up getting pregnant after all, and announcing it in the last ep!!! But than maybe Ann would end up not going to England, (leaving TWO Grandchildren ,not just one)!! Which I didn't like that ending anyway!!!

And I was thinking the same thing too about having Barbara really "getting together" with Max and coming up pregnant!!!! Not knowing which one was the father!!! I even thought of this last time around but kept it to myself because I didn't want to insinuate that your Barbara was a loose woman, Opus!

WOW!!!! If it ended up determined the baby really was Max's and not Mark's .That baby and baby Annie would not only be cousins, they would also be siblings too!!! Right ? They would have the same Dad and their Mother's are Sisters!!! Well half siblings and cousins too!!! WOW!!! That would be WILD!!!!!! If I had my way, that's how it would be!! But poor Mark though!!!

OMG!!! What would Ann & Grandma Romano say!!!!!

Wink

I will add to the pile.

Julie comes back and tells Max that little Annie was indeed the result of her fling and demands to take the baby away and raise it with the biological father. (whoever he is) She gains custody after sleeping with the judge. She walks out of their lives AGAIN.

In his grief Max makes goo goo eyes at Grandma and they make love on the living room couch. Somehow Katherine's eggs are still viable and SHE gets pregnant!

Max and Grandma get run over on their way to hospital and die at the hands of Nick's drunk driver who is let back out on the street.

The baby (its a boy!) survives and Barbara and Mark FINALLY get their little miracle.

Ann and Sam couldn't care less and remain in London.

Or something like that.

This is very far fetched. Grandma would never do it on a couch. The rest is plausible.

You never know, she did it on a cruise with a much younger man.

She was kinda wild in her way.

I like my more realistic scenario that the baby would be Barbara and Max's and the kids would be cousins and siblings too!!! They would have an adorable baby together!

Don't begrudge Grandma. Plus I'm sure Anna can rewrite it a little to cheer you up.

Bonniegirl, I didn't get this upset when you turned Schneider into a wife killer

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=339167 so why are

you giving me such a hard time about my silly little post which was intended as dark humor just as yours was?

Cool

thanks opus.

Not mad at sweet Bonniegirl but I thought the post I wrote was kinda funny. I am not used to being this controversial, LOL.

Obviously I was just joking like we all do here.
