The Del Rubio Triplets were a variety/musical act in the 1980s. They were born as the Boyd Triplets in August 1921 in the Panama Canal Zone. The triplets were mnamed Eadie, Elena, and Milly. They grew up in the Panama Canal Zone and Washington D.C.. Their stage name comes from the colour they dyed their hair; the word "rubio" means "blond" in Spanish. They made various television appearances such as Married... with ChildrenFull House, The Golden Girls, Night Court and Pee-wee's Playhouse wearing bouffant hairdos and gaudy blue eyeshadow. They often appeared scantily clad (usually showing off their legs) despite the fact that they were in their sixties at the time. They are often remembered for their contribution of "Winter Wonderland" to the Pee-wee's Playhouse Christmas Special that originally aired in 1988. They also briefly appeared in the motion picture Americathon, playing "America the Beautiful" behind several posing bodybuilders. In the late 1980s they were featured in a McDonald's fast food advertisement. They performed until Eadie's diagnosis with cancer in 1996, she passed away that year. Soon after, Elena died of cancer in 2001, and Milly has since remained in the San Pedro, California home they all shared together.

I'll always remember them from Pee-Wee's Playhouse and The Golden Girls, where they sang a rendition of The Pointer Sisters' Neutron Dance!

I saw them guest star on "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" twice during its run in the late 80s, once on the show's Season 3 Christmas Special (where they sung "Winter Wonderland"), and again on a regular Season 4 episode (where they sung "These Boots Are Made For Walking").
