I was watching this episode last night and I noticed that the apt where Penny and her mom lived looked way much better than the Evan's apt. Now you would think that since the Evans were the main family, they would have made their apt look nicer than it did. Even Willona's apt looked better than the Evan's apt.

It makes sense the Willona had a nicer apartment because she had more money. Up until Penny came, Willona was a single woman and she had a decent job. James and Florida were always struggling money-wise, plus they had three kids to raise. And Florida didn't work until after James died. Also, I think that having three kids was another reason for the "wear-and-tear" look of the apartment.

Which creates another mystery..............Why was a single woman living in the projects?
