Marlo Thomas Cast as Miley Cyrus' Grandmother in "LOL: Laughing Out Loud" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Marlo Thomas has been cast to play mother to Demi Moore's character and grandmother to Miley Cyrus' character in "LOL," the English-language remake of Gallic hit "LOL: Laughing Out Loud."
Lisa Azuelos, who directed the original, is set to helm the remake from her own script for Mandate and Double Feature Films. Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Feature are producers; Romain Le Grand and Nathan Kahane are exec producers.

Pic tells the story of a 15-year-old who, dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend, sets her sights on his best friend. At the same time, her 40-year-old divorced mother is struggling to move on with her life. Ashley Greene, Thomas Jane, Ashley Hinshaw, Lina Esco, George Finn and Douglas Booth also star.

My mom says the thought of Marlo Thomas playing a grandma makes her feel old.

I told some old fart working in a Best Buy about this, and he was like,... "Oy, What a motley crew they'd make," or something to that effect. I didn't go through all the details about it, other than the fact that she played Miley's character's grandmother.

It's just as well, he was more than likely the only person working in the store who knew who Marlo Thomas is, or what That Girl was.
