Apologies if this appears in another thread but at the present time I can't seem to get the search function to , well, FUNCTION.
Anyone remember this show? I think there were only four episodes, a failed spinoff from the Burt Reynolds movie. David Hasselhoff and Markie Post were in it. I have searched other places to no avail, anyone have any clue if this is on DVD? ( Doubt it. ) and/or does anyone HAVE it? Thanks In advance

I don't recall the location of the thread, but it did come up about a year ago in the course of a discussion of forgotten shows. I recall that one of the more active tape traders here said that it doesn't seem to be anywhere. Good Luck.

'Semi-Tough' on ABC
'Semi-Tough' was greenlit by ABC as a 4-episode 1980 summer season tryout largely to see if they could find another 'Three's Company' formula that worked the same ratings magic...its storyline had two pro footballers sharing an apartment with a comely, nubile young woman.
'Semi-Tough', which averaged 13.7HH for its 4-episode run, subbing in for the cancelled sitcom 'The Ropers', which averaged a much better 15.6HH for its summer season episodes. The theatrical SEMI-TOUGH, on which the series was loosely based, did rather mixed numbers in two airings on NBC prior to the series debut, garnering an OK 19.7HH/32% for its September 1979 premiere but falling off quite badly to a rather pallid 11.3HH/20% for its first encore airing in December 1980. |

I've never come across anyone anywhere who had an episode, including the people that I know who taped a lot of short-run shows in that era. Having read the book that its based on, I will say that Markie Post is a much better choice for the part than Jill Clayburgh was, who played it in the movie.
