Help with a case - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What was the name of the case with the woman who was beaten by her friend? He was an african american guy with dread locks and he had a weird name, but I can't remember it. It may have started with a V or W. She was put into a coma and the man had a disfigured hand. This episode scared me when I was little! That a friend could do that! Did they ever find the guy?

The victim's name is Sarah Beard.

Her assailant was known only as Wadada (thinks that's correct, not entirely sure).

To my knowledge, he has not been caught.

OH thank you! Wadada! I knew it was some weird nickname or something. I hope that girl fully recovered. You would think someone with a disfigured hand and a nickname like that would be easily found.

If I remember correctly, I believe he was from somewhere in the Caribbean and it was speculated that he returned there. I don't know if this was speculation on the part of the police, or if they had some hard information that this is where he was headed. In any event, if he did leave the U.S., he could be very difficult to locate.

I believe the rape occurred in December 1988, so it may not be on the radar anymore in terms of being actively investigated.
