The actress who played Claire in the first season of My Wife and Kids was also replaced.

Morgan Matthews on "Boy Meets World" was played by Lily Nicksay in seasons 1 and 2 and by Lindsay Ridgeway in seasons 3-7.

This is a pretty regular occurance on daytime soap operas, here are a few of the more outlandish examples:

On "General Hospital" the character of Alan Junior "AJ" Quatermaine has been played by no less than 8 different actors:

Eric Kroh (1979 to 1983)
Abraham Geary (1983)
Jason Marsden (1986 to 1988)
Christopher Ren Nelson (1988 to 1989)
Justin Whalin (1989)
Gerald Hopkins (1991 to 1992)
Sean Kanan (1993 to June 10, 1997)

Granted some of these were when the character was an infant and toddler, but just taking into account when the character was a teen or adult we have 6 different actors taking on the role.

The Partridge Family

Jeremy Gelbwaks was the original Chris Patridge in S1.

He was fired after S1 and replaced by Brian Forster from S2 until the series' end in 1974.

That's My Mama!
Lynne Moody was the original Tracy Curtis in S1.

She was replaced in S2 by Joan Pringle

The Jeffersons

I'm surprised no one mentioned this one:

Mike Evans was the original Lionel on The Jeffersons. He was replaced for a little while by Damon Evans,before he himself was replaced by Mike Evans.

Cagney & Lacey
Meg Foster was the original Christine Cagney on the TV Series in the short 1st season. She was subsequently fired and replaced by Sharon Gless for the remainder of the series.
