The fourth season of this hit television Western finds erudite gunman Paladin (Richard Boone) leaving his digs in San Francisco's posh Hotel Carlton and riding to aid folks in need, including a lady sheriff whose town has been overrun by gunmen.

Also this year, Paladin tracks down a woman kidnapped by Indians, helps a Russian Jewish immigrant, and umpires a rough-and-tumble baseball game.

Robert Blake guest stars.

These 4th-season episodes look great. CBS has done a fine job of re-mastering them (unlike the first three seasons, which came out early on in the tv-dvd game, and sported older tape masters of only so-so quality).
