Can anyone here identify this case? Earlier Episodes

Hi all,

I know we're not allowed to post YouTube Links however thiis case is shown very briefly in the opening titles of the 16 November 1988 Episode. A heavy set man with a moustache getting out of a Police Car.

All I remember about this case is that he was wanted for something and the Girls mother described him as a smooth talker. He was captured and taken into custody in an update (circa 1988?) but I think he maintained his innocence.

I have no further recollection of the case.

You're thinking of the Jerry Strickland/Missy Munday case. It was first profiled on one of the pre-series specials; if memory serves me correctly it was Special 5 or 7.

You're very welcome. One of my very favorite UM quotes of all time was in the update when they were finally caught and Jerry Strickland got a few minutes to say that "all they had" against him was "circlestantive evidence."
