Default Break in the Jacob Wetterling Abduction?

Could it be we are finally nearing an end to this iconic case of child abduction?

I don't think it was ever on UM - unless it was shown on a "special alert" segment that was excluded from the Lifetime reruns.

I've noticed that UM Wikipedia lists segments that have probably never been shown on UM but was added anyway based (obviously) on posts at this forum. For that reason, we should be very careful as to what cases we discuss on the UM forum. If there is even a remote uncertainty as to whether a particular case was on UM, play it safe by assuming it is a non-UM case until proven otherwise. But for the interim, if it has to be discussed at this message board, it should be discussed under "All Other Cases".

No it was not on UM. I apologize for starting the thread. It didn't even occur to me until much later that this was not the right forum for it. It had been discussed on here before which is why I thought to post it.

That's okay. But as I noted before, we should exercise caution on what cases we discuss here. If a non-UM case is discussed at the UM forum often enough, someone will end up erroneously believing that it was featured on UM. (It's kind of like the famous saying that if you repeat a lie often enough it will be accepted as the truth.)

I'm sure Jacob Wetterling was profiled on America's Most Wanted, so it's a good bet that someone on this forum had seen the case on that show and misremembered it as an UM segment.

Does anyone think it's possible that the Jacob Wetterling abduction may have been done by the same perp(s) as the Johnny Gosch (and the slightly lesser known Eugene Martin and Marc James-Warren Allen, who were all paperboys that disappeared in Des Moines, Iowa in the 80's) abductions? I ask that because the m.o. was the same (snatching kids off the streets) and Iowa neighbors Minnestota, which is where Wetterling was from.

Here's a fun fact: Jacob's mom ran for an open seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006. Her opponent was none other than Michele Bachmann.
