Angry I Can Totally Understand If The Rest of The Cast Dislikes Jaleel White Because Of...

The cover art for the season 1 DVD. Steven Urkel is smack dab in the front of the cover and the rest of the cast is in the background. I think that is totally unfair considering he wasn't as big of a contributor back in season 1.

Yea I can agree with that. It isn't fair because he wasn't even a big part of that season. I can hardly even see the rest of the cast in that photo. I guess they did it because they figure he could sell more DVDs.

Yeah, and Valerie Jones, who played Judy in the pilot episode, is on the cover instead of Jaimee Foxworth! Bad cover art.

Steve Urkel was the absolute break out star of this show (although not so much in the first season ) so of course they made him prominent in the cover art. And of course they are expecting to boost their sales totals as a result.

Yeah, like it or not, it was a business move, and a smart one at that, as Steve was the biggest star of the show.

It's a good cover, but maybe not as the cover of the first season. And I agree, the Winslows should be in the front too, and Jaimee Foxworth instead of Valerie Jones, who only appeared on the first episode.

Yeah, but someone at another forum said, that the photo of the Winslows, that ended up on this cover, maybe is the only group photo avaible from the first season. And if that's true, there was nothing else to do.

They could have edited Jaimee into the picture, I know that they edited the color of Carl and Estelle's clothing. Here's a comparison (they're not the exact same photo but you can tell that they were both taken at the same time.)

Sorry but IMO without Urkel becoming so popular the show wouldn't have stayed on the air. He was so huge, he became bigger than the show.

It's smart business, you put on the cover what is known and will sell. Most people probably don't realize Urkel wasn't as prominent in Season 1 and might not buy it for that reason.

Changing colors is not the same thing as editing out a person and replacing her with another though.

Yes, Steve was the show's star, but while putting him in such a focus on the cover of the 1rst season DVD might have been a good business move, it still was a bad idea, considering that he still was a rather minor character in that season.

True, but they have the ability to. They could have just put her head on Valerie's body and touched up her arms to match Jaimee's skin color.

No, I don't like the idea of that.
