Default The Black and White episodes of "Bewitched"

For the most part, the black and white episodes from the first two seasons(1964-1965 and 1965-1966)were better,in my opinion, than the color episodes, with the exception of the 1966-1967 season. Now the question:Which black and white episodes DIDN'T you like?

I liked all the black and white episodes, and I agree the first two seasons were the best.

I've never ever seen Bewitched in black and white. I see it on WGN and TVLand and also in reruns when I was a kid and it's always in color.

Did they colorize the B&W episodes like they did with Gilligan's Island?

I think all you guys are right because I started watching Bewtiched again for the first time in years and they are showing episodes from 1967 and some episodes are pretty good like Dan the Diaper Man but others aren't that good at all.

What makes the show so unique is it's the ONLY show ever made of a family a witches led be a hot one who can make things fly around and do funny tricks and stuff. The ambience of the show is good too.

I think the black and white episodes are great - there's a certain charm in most of them which is missing from a lot of the color episodes.

For the record: my votes of the best seasons are (in this order)

Season 1
Season 3
Season 6
Season 2
Season 4
Season 7
Season 5
Season 8

But I love them all

I think that there being in Black & White had a lot to do with that as a certain unique very spooky full moonish Witchly ambiance was created in the process as well as a more early 1960's & New York feel to it as well.

In the Colour episodes it had a more LA, late 1960's atmosphere & in colour although more vibrant that mystical, magical otherworldly feel to it was not reproduceable.

I also think the b&w made the Samantha/Darrin scenes more romantic.

I agree that the storylines in the B&W episodes are probably better. I've not seen them yet but I'll take your word on it since some of the color episodes aren't good.

But I'd much rather see episodes in full vibrant color!

Interestingly enough the first time I saw the black and white episodes was when Nick at Nite showed them around 1990ish. I hadnt seen them before and didnt even know the show was in black and white. That is also when I noticed what a hottie Liz Montgomery was.

Liz was hot no doubt but it's the magic that makes the show so unique since no other show has that!

Kind of like me the first time I saw Barney Miller and laid eyes on a certain co-star with the initials G.S.

Yes,most of the black and white episodes were overall the best of the whole series, but the one I really DIDN"T care for,was Pt.1 of the 2-part second season episode "Follow that Witch".Part 2 of "Follow that Witch"was FAR funnier.
