Kellie Pickler Gets Engaged

This small town girl is all grown up with the engagement ring to prove it.

American Idol's fifth season standout Kellie Pickler is engaged to her longtime songwriter beau Kyle Jacobs, a rep for the country cutie confirms to E! News.

"Yes, it's true," she tweeted in confirmation of the nuptial news this morning. "Can't wait to say 'I DO!'"

No wedding date has yet been set by the 23-year-old singer and her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years, who popped the question last week on what would otherwise have been a downer of a day for Pickler.

June 15 marked the birthday of her late grandmother (who stepped in to raise her when her mother abandoned her and father was in jail), but thanks to Jacobs it now also marks the date of her engagement, as he popped the question—with help from champagne, candles and a blanket—on a Florida beach at sunset.

"Thank you Jesus!" she tweeted shortly after the event.

"It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life," she told People. "My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother's blessing.

"I remember saying to Kyle, 'Baby it's like I'm dreaming—but if this isn't real, I'm going to be very upset!"

And how's this for happy endings: Pickler even plans to have her father, with whom she reunited last year, walk her down the aisle. Congrats!
