Theme: "Catch a Falling Star"?? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hey everybody,
I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out a show that aired in the mid 80's that had a space theme. Err, let me amend that, I think one of the characters was from space(no, not ALF

) It was an older guy and a little kid during the opening credits. If I remember correctly, the theme song was "Catch A Falling Star", or "Swinging on a Star". As it played the older guy pointed up to the sky as a shooting star flew across the sky. Any help would be appreciated, this has been driving me nuts for years. Thanks.
