Default Dereld and Georgia??

Does anyone remember the "Darrell and Georgia" case on UM? It was basically about this guy who met this girl in a club, they ended up together. She died a short time later, and he started asking people in her hometown about her past life. If i remember right, he received almost literally the same answer from everyone he asked which was basically let it go,dont get involved, stay away. I was wondering does anyone know anything about Georgia's life that would cause people to not want to talk about it. This case has always intrigued me. By the way, Darrell came off as a real classy, stand up guy.

Yes, her family was eventually located and reunited with her children...including the girls' biological father.

Just letting you know that the guy's name was Dereld, not Darrell.

You know, this case has always bothered me because it had one of the more drastic changes of tone when it was updated. The segment itself was all spooky and mysterious with Georgia being terrorized and stalked and her husband always meeting resistance when trying to answer questions about her identity. And then the update hits and it turns into a "lost loves" episode with Derreld having an emotional reunion with Georgia's family!

I mean, I'm real happy that these people all got closure like this, but there's still a lot of questions about this case that never got resolved. Who was terrorizing Georgia? Was she really a former member of a biker gang? Why was Derreld getting resistance from EVERYONE he tried to get information from who told him just to drop the matter? It gave the impression that there was this mammoth cover-up surrounding her.

I guess when Dereld found Georgia's family, he might have just stopped caring about learning the shady details of his wife's past. Anyone here ever find out any details about the unanswered questions in the episode?

Hey,my husband is one of Edith Geraldine Johnns {Georgia's} children she had BEFORE the two girls and then the two boys..She was married to my husband's daddy, they had a boy and a girl,Carl E. Moore Jr. and Rhonda Moore...she then had two girls with Gary Moore,Carl Sr.'s nephew, then she left the area,I'm guessing by the video, she went to Augusta, then to Atlanta,we know NOTHING of what she did while in Augusta or Atlanta, only what the video shows, and yes,it is very odd that the husband didn't find out who was stalking her or find out about her life in Augusta or Atlanta...She lived in Sylvania/Screven County area while with my father n law and while with my husband's cousin...I guess I could try to dind out myself about the ordeal,I'll let you know what I come up with...this intrigues me as well...I WANNA KNOW...

Hi ! Thank you so much for posting and giving us your insights into the situation. Of course, even though you never got to know her, allow me to express my condolences for what happened to your mother-in-law.

It's interesting to hear that even Georgia's family members do not seem to know anything about the mysterious elements from her past. Some of us have theorized that she may have been an informant in an ongoing criminal investigation, which is why the authorities refused to cooperate whenever Dereld tried to ask any questions about her. Of course, if you ever do find out anything, feel free to share it with us if you want .

The video of the reunion also shows an interview and reunion with Gary Moore and his children and grandchildren and talks about them but doesn't really show my husband and his sister reuniting with their siblings and meeting the other two siblings,it shows them at the end looking at photo albums but that is it...

So she met's Daryl at age 21,and by then had given birth to 4 children already.
And in btwn had time to have a double life with biker gangs stalking her. Something really doesn't add up really with her family or some of the guys she met before Daryl

Though, as claudialmoore noted, the first two children were the cousins to the father of the two daughters, so there's plenty that doesn't add up here, and I'm sure there's plenty UM left out. Though it explains why they would have family photos of those other children out of nowhere, since they're all very closely related.

She was having issues w/ headaches, but could some of this stuff been d/t mental illness? If all this stuff happened, surely at least Derald was able to get some closure on what was up with his late wife?

Agreed. The part that bothered me was while narrating the reunion, Robert Stack mentions that Georgia's ex husband, Gary Moore, was reunited with the two children he hadn't seen in years and grandchildren he didn't know he had. It's almost as though Georgia was hiding these kids from Gary Moore.
