It's been rumored (and shot down) for awhile, but today, it appears as if Filipina pop star Charice Pempengco has landed a recurring role on the FOX mega-hit "Glee", according to the Ausiello Files.


Gleeks will thrill to the news that Pempengco's character will be a foreign exchange student whose incredible talent may finally drive Lea Michele's Rachel to some crazy-desperate measures.





Pemengco, who, like Journey's new lead singer Arnel Pineda, is a Filipino who was discovered on YouTube.

But it was an appearance on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" in 2007 and Oprah Winfrey's subsequent pegging of her as the 'Most Talented Girl in the World' (and hooking her up with music maven David Foster) that prompted her career stateside to skyrocket.




"Glee", as you probably already know, returns to FOX Tuesdays at 8PM, beginning this fall.
