Well, we have The Lucy Show season 1, soon Season 2, more than likely season 3, but do you think we're going to see the rest of the series or will the she show be abandoned? I'm hoping the whole series will eventually be released!

Well, it is all about sales. People have to keep buying them. I think there are enough Lucy fans out there to continue the series through.
But I really wish the studios would just release these old shows in one entire series package. If you have 7 or 8 or more seasons of a series and there is like 6 months to 1 year between the sale of each season, you can't really expect to keep people's interest up that long. |

1) Not all dvd consumers' budgets allow for them to buy all the complete series they want and 2) Sometimes the box sets don't store very well. -- I disliked the I Love Lucy boxed set, was very satisfied with my season sets -- but on the other hand, the LITB Box Set, which is packaged better, I plan to get!

True, and a company like Shout cares about what it releases, the quality, etc. Other companies do not. And while I have no intention to get the LITB set or DVD releases, from what I have read and seen about the releases - and especially the series set - I have been very impressed with the efforts that Shout has taken on this series. They should be congratulated on a job well done. |

I have no doubt that if CBS chose to stop after season 3.....MPI would sweep on in and take it over!! the Here's Lucy sets and the Lucy specials are well done by MPI!

I totally agree with you re: packaging. The ILL boxed set was the cheapest, flimsiest packaging I have ever seen. It was designed to be a keepsake, because if you are in and out of the box that much it will fall apart.
Overall, the entire series should be offered at a better price. These old series, like I LOVE LUCY and THE LUCY SHOW have made millions for CBS...probably billions...they can afford to offer an etire series package at a more affordable price. |

ILL should have come in a mini-conga drum, much like Dick Van Show's complete series came in an ottoman!

I thought it was an ottoman, I have the seperate releases instead of the complete box so I was going by memory. But regardless, it appears to me more attention was paid to DVD than to ILL. |

Actually Benno isn't too far off. When the season sets were in the process of being released, I remember Doug Denoff (the DVD on DVD creator) mentioned on his website that the complete series would eventually be released in an ottoman and include bonuses such as "Dick Van Dyke and the Other Woman".
In the end it didn't quite work out that way. It doesn't matter to me as long as the show itself was released. The same goes for The Lucy Show. I don't really care about packaging as long as the shows themselves get released uncut and in good quality. |

The only thing I care about packaging, is compactability and convenience. I like that The Lucy Show box is so slim and takes up little space. By the time all of The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy are out, all 12 seasons will take about half the space of I Love Lucy/Lucy-Desi CH. And there will be no need for a complete series set of either one.
