I think you're wasting your time. 'Chef' wasn't even that popular here in Britain.

Agreed. It certainly wasn't popular at all here.
Lenny Henry just can't "do" sitcoms at all. His performances are embarrassing. |

I don't know about you "Brits" or even you Scot, Mossopp, but I LIKED Chef! a lot. It's one of the few Britcoms I miss. And I don't really care for too many Britcoms either.
That's my 2 cents, and I don't care if I burn for it. ![]() **Gracie moo** |

Okey dokey then!
![]() Not dissing your choice, it's just not my kind of show. It fascinates me which Britcoms are enjoyed "over the pond". |

Chef may not have been the best Britcom, but , as crude as it could be, it certainly was the FUNNIEST! And to say Lenny Henry couldnt do comedy???? He WAS that show !!! ( although, his lovely wife made a nice balance , the "seperation" year sucked, without her )

I love Chef! I think it didn't maintain its quality as the years went by, though. But it was a great show, IMO. I really like the theme song, too. Watching that show would get me singing that song for days afterwards.

I thought Chef! was a good show, too. I always like shows that have unusual premises. IMHO a show about a French restaurant in the English countryside run by a young black man qualifies LOL! (And Britcoms in general seem to be really good at that--Monty Python, Blackadder, Ab Fab, As Time Goes By, and Not Going Out, for example). Unfortunately Chef! was only on TV here in my area for a couple of years about 15 years ago; would like to see it again.

Chef! was excellent when it first started.
As stated earlier in this thread,it did not maintain its quality as time went by. I too, also loved the theme song. |
