Perez Hilton Loses ABC Ads, Issues Statement to EW

The fallout from celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton's Twitter post, allegedly showing a photo showing 17-year-old Miley Cyrus exiting a vehicle without underwear, continued today when ABC pulled ads for "The View" from Hilton's site, according to TV Guide.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, fired back a short time later with an exclusive statement to EW.com:

“I find it odd that an advertiser would choose to pull an ad off my site because the photo in question, which was not pornographic and showed a fully clothed Miley Cyrus, was not posted on my website or even linked from my site.

I look forward to addressing this and all of the inaccuracies about me being perpetuated when I appear on Joy Behar’s HLN show this evening.”

... contending that the photo showed Cyrus fully clothed and citing that it was never posted on his site.

He further announced a television appearance for tonight.

Hilton posted the photo in question to his Twitter account on Monday along with the warning, "If you are easily offended, do NOT click here."

The backlash started almost immediately, and Hilton issued a video the next day, stating, "I'm here wearing my fake fur to address a fake controversy that the media is really talking about the last 24 hours."

Hilton asked in the video if people thought Cyrus was stupid enough to go out without underwear, and if people thought he would be stupid enough to post it if she did, also mentioning that other photos from that same set clearly showed Cyrus was fully clothed.

According to TVGuide.com, no legal action had been taken against Hilton as of Monday afternoon. Cyrus is only 17, which makes her a minor.

A photo such as the one Hilton allegedly posted might result in child pornography charges against Hilton.

In response to the uproar following his Twitter post of an allegedly provocative photo of Miley Cyrus, Perez Hilton appeared on "The Joy Behar Show" (weeknights, 11PM ET on HLN) to defend his actions.

"You're a little scared, I think," said Joy Behar.

"No, I'm not scared at all; I don't regret what I did, and I would do the same thing again," said Hilton.

"It's not showing anything inappropriate. It's not actually doing anything worse than Miley herself has been doing recently -- from grinding up on her 40something-year-old director to pole dancing to all the oversexualized things she has been doing."

Hilton also responded to the backlash from Disney's ABC network, which pulled its ads for "The View" from his website.

"I really do wish I could post that picture, because a lot of people, the media and folks, are getting upset over an image they didn't see ... It's definitely not child pornography, and it's definitely not illegal."
