Default Got My Season 3 Here's Lucy in the Mail Today!

All 24 episodes from the 3rd season are on 4 discs. As usual, great video quality. The extra features are not very exciting, but nothing much different on video or sound quality from Seasons 1 & 2.

Cool

I'm halfway through watching this set. I've really enjoyed it so far. My one complaint would be too many big name guest stars and not enough Kim and Craig. There have been a number of eps. already that Kim and Craig aren't in. The last ep. I watched, Lucy and Rudy Vallee, Kim was in but not Craig.

Agree. I haven't watched my Season 3 set yet but it might as well be another Lucy show instead of Here's Lucy. Kim and Craig are very entertaining. I enjoy seeing Desi Jr. and Lucie interact with mom onscreen. Here's Lucy is all about the widowed working single mom raising her two hip teenage kids. The show should have focused on Lucy as a working mother and not so many many many random famous guest stars used for hilarious hijinks.

Not only does Desi leave at the end of season 3, but Lucie I think is missing from half the episodes from seasons 4-6.

I love the green theme and pic used for Season 3. It looks so good next
to the orange and pink Here's Lucy season cases on my TV-On-DVD shelf. I'm now complete with Here's Lucy. The show just doesn't seem right IMO with Lucy and just one of her kids. No more seasons for me but I hope you all continue to enjoy buying the rest of the seasons.

The whole "Here's Lucy" premise really went downhill then. To me the final episodes of Here's Lucy is when they have that Hawaiian vacation

Like an idiot I thought a store here in Louisville would actually carry this but of course they did not. Nobody around here carries much classic tv anymore. All new garbage now. So I ordered mine along with both volumes of Perry Mason S4 from amazon on Wednesday. Hopefully I will get it Monday. I love the Hawaiian Vacation episodes and will really miss seeing her children as regulars (although Lucie continued on for two more seasons she wasn't seen as much). Still I will buy all six to have a complete series set.

Same here! (about assuming you'd be able to find it in a store). Best Buy has the first 2 seasons, but not the newest release. So I had to order mine also.

Actually, Lucie appeared in most of the episodes in the 4th and 5th seasons. But during the 6th season, she got busy with other projects and participated in only about half the episodes that season. As for the quality of the show during the final three seasons, I think it was a mixed bag. The fourth season was when former I Love Lucy writers Bob Carroll, Jr. and Madelyn Davis rejoined as regular writers for Lucy (after writing a single Here's Lucy script prior to that: the famous Taylor-Burton episode in the 3rd season). They wrote about 8 scripts each season for the last three seasons, about 24 episodes altogether. The scripts they wrote generally were stronger, or at least better constructed, than what other writers penned for the series (other than Bob O'Brien, who also turned in a lot of good scripts during this period). So yes, there is a missing element with Desi Jr. gone from the series. However, because of the presence of Bob and Madelyn, there is a tendency towards more better-crafted scripts than what we got during the first three seasons.

Anytime Mary Jane was featured, was a plus+++++ (which was more often in later seasons).

Is it because she always seemed to yell her lines? Lucie said in one of the interviews on The Lucy Show Season 1, that Lucy trained her kids, and The Lucy Show kids to do that.

I think Craig has the stronger bond with Lucy Carter. Even though I wished both of them stayed throughout the six year run... If I had to choose between Kim and Craig on who gets to leave I would choose Kim.
