I always use to think growing up that Bernie Kopell from "The Love Boat" & Steve Landesberg from "Barney Miller" were one and the same person or at the very least related. lol

Slight resemblance. But Dietrich had much wavier hair and a more prominent nose. Fairly sure Kopell is about ten years older than Landesberg, too.

Yeah, I can see a bit of resemblance, too. Here's the age difference:

Bernie Kopell - June 21, 1933
Steve Landesberg - November 23, 1945

Wouldn't it have been a ball if Gopher turned out to be Dietrich's older brother??

Hey, both shows were on ABC and aired during the same era.

Or, Steve Lanesberg playing the younger brother, of Adam Bricker.

Speaking of the two shows. Hal Linden appeared in the Love Boat's first pilot; and Abe Vigoda appeared in an episode as well.
