Betty White Makes Her First Guest Appearance On “The View,” Live, June 14
June 10, 2010 by J!-ENT

Betty White (“Hot in Cleveland”) is confirmed to make her first guest appearance on “The View,” live, Monday, June 14.

It’s a thrilling game of musical chairs and “She said, He said?,” as things heat up this week on ABC’s “The View” (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). A surprising turn of events leads to some historic moments for the Emmy® Award-winning talk show. It’s a series of “firsts,” as men moderate, two men are integrated into the mix of the all-female panel (as moderator and co-host), and regular co-host Joy Behar moderates for a day (Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd will each moderate for one day next week). First-time featured guest moderators this week are Bryant Gumbel and Joe Scarborough, with Stephen A. Smith featured as a first-time guest co-host. “She said, He said?” concludes next week on ABC.

Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”), Kate Walsh (“Dusk Rings A Bell”), Kathy Griffin (“My Life on the D-List”), Rhona Mitra (ABC’s “The Gates”), Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves (“Hot in Cleveland”) are among the scheduled guests.

Scheduled guests for the week of June 14-18 are as follows (subject to change):

Monday, June 14 – First-time guest appearance from Betty White (“Hot in Cleveland”).

Tuesday, June 15 – Joy Behar moderates; author/actress Tori Spelling (“Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood”) co-hosts; Kathy Griffin (“My Life on the D-List”); Rhona Mitra (ABC’s “The Gates”).

Wednesday, June 16 – Television journalist/sportscaster Bryant Gumbel (HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel”) moderates; Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves (“Hot in Cleveland”).

Thursday, June 17 – Joe Scarborough (host, “Morning Joe”) moderates; media personality Stephen A. Smith (“Fox Sports Radio”) co-hosts; Kate Walsh (“Dusk Rings a Bell”); Joanna Philbin (author, Daughters).

Friday, June 18 – Television journalist/sportscaster Bryant Gumbel (HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel”) moderates; Valerie Bertinelli (“Hot in Cleveland”) co-hosts; Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”); last-minute father’s day gift ideas; an in-depth look at adoption around the world.

“The View” features Daytime Emmy Award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It’s the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. “The View,” broadcast in HDTV and produced in humble 2-channel stereo sound, is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on the ABC Digital Full Episode Player at ABC.com. “The View” is produced by ABC Daytime and Ms. Walters’ Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie, who also serves as executive producer for “The Barbara Walters Specials.” “The View” is directed by Mark Gentile. Musical performances produced and directed by Mark Gentile. For breaking news and updated videos follow “The View” (@theviewtv) and hosts Barbara Walters (@BarbaraJWalters), Joy Behar (@JoyVBehar), Elisabeth Hasselbeck (@ehasselbeck) and Sherri Shepherd (@SherriEShepherd) on Twitter™.

I saw "The View"this morning,(her part,at least)and she was great on it.Whoopi /or Joy asked her what she thought about "reality" shows, and she said she did NOT like them. You know the saying "they saved the best for last"?In this case, they did on "The View".P.S:She was also great on Good Morning America this morning, and she will be on "The Joy Behar Show"tonight on HLN.

They played the Golden Girls theme when she came out onto The View stage. that was nice.

For some reason Betty White wasn't on The Daily Show as it was listed. Must have been a mistake.

It was rather funny the way she went on and on about reality shows, and the contestants on those shows...apparently unaware that co-host Elisabeth Hasslebeck was a contestant on Season 2 of 'Survivor', and came in 4th place.

Actually, Betty, always on top of things, said she thought the competition or talent reality shows were ok, but the ones where cameras just follow people around, with directors scripting them, she thought doesn't make any sense. That's not reality!
