The adopted parents of Gary Coleman are Scheduled to appear on a segment of Friday's episode of the Today Show.
Don't know exactly what they'll say, but I'm sure that it will be about their son. it might be interesting, it might help shed some light as to why Gary died so early in life. We'll just have to see what else pans out.

I have heard a number of different stories. Gary says that his parents stole the money. From what I understand the parents took control of the money because of some fears that Gary couldn't manage it. Some handlers misappropriated the money. This caused anger in Gary because the parents didn't handle it well. The parents had to go back to work eventually. Gary did get award about one millions dollars. Was this in the form of a trust fund? Gary had to work some jobs to make ends meet. Is there any piece of information I have missing? |

Yes. Shannon. Well, still none of us know what her true intentions are or were. It's been said also, that Gary's parents have been bickering with her endlessly since his death. That they would often try to call her and when she found out that they were on the other end, she would hang up on them! Come on now, let's face it - Sticky-fingered Stella has a deep hand in this and look how much money she bilked Gary out of so that she can afford to get 'luxuiously-appointed high-end-stuff whenever they went to Las Vegas or any other time. She's been in his pockets right up until his death, and she still probably is! I strongly believe that she talked & conned Gary into signing some ridiculous agreement that SHE make all the choices concerning Gary's welfare and other things. 1. Why didn't she cry at all when Gary was suffering downstair in the kitchen after having fallen on the floor? 2. Why did she talk to him in a manner that was so incompetent and cruel while on the phone with the 911 operator? 3.. Why was she in such a hurry to have the LSS removed from him after he was only being hospitalised for only two days? 4. Why isn't she showing any compassion or sympathy for him now? 5. Why does she only seem concerned about what he might have left for HER concerning the will(s)? 6. Why is she still not crying for him now? As far as I'M CONCERNED, THESE QUESTIONS HAVE ALL STILL GONE UNANSWERED! She was a parasite to him, I'm telling you! And yes, Gary DID have to do odd jobs to make ends meet. Poor guy! Now we've lost him forever! Shame! ![]() Oh. Some comforting news; She HAS been locked out of the house that she and Gary lived in.

I had a feeling we'd see them on TV sooner or later.

Nothing surprises me at all now, concerning this case!! But they DID apear on the Today Show. The main thing that they said is that they truly believe that Gary's mind was poisoned by people that he thought he could trust. For ther most part, they feel that they could have tried to help him and try to reconcile with him, because they wanted to be at peace with him. At least Gary's dad had shed some tears during that interview, as they both remembered Gary from the time that he was a little baby living with them and growing up in their household.

Gary Coleman's parents: 'We would never have taken money from him' 09:01 AM Gary Coleman's parents, Willie and Sue Coleman, appeared on the Today show this morning and tried to clear up some of the stories about them. Wiping tears from his eyes, dad Willie, remembered Gary as a "loving, kind, gentle human being... from the first day we brought him home." They explained that while some reports seemed to indicate Gary was upset they didn't tell him he was adopted, the parents said that was not true. "We told him when he was five years old," said Willie. "He did not want to deal with it," added Sue. "He asked us to please not discuss it and we didn't." They reiterated that they aren't "pointing fingers" at anyone. Of Shannon Price, Willie said only that she left "the strangest message I have ever heard in my life" - because it was so impersonal - when they had tried to find out how Gary was doing after his fall. And as for being estranged for more than 20 years, after Coleman sued them in 1989 for mishandling his multi-million dollar trust fund from his days as a child actor, mom Sue said, "As far as the money goes, we would never have taken money from him. We weren't raised that way." |

Hmmm lets see you never took money form him? But somehow your son was making $75,000 -$100,000 a week doing a show for about 8 years and by the shows end less then 3 years later. He was brough a lawsuit against the both of you!
A lawsuit that he won! All that was left of his $18 Million was $1.3 Million. sooooooo someone stole his money. I guess being his manager and paying yourself 300% higher then anyone else kinda adds up huh, spending his money like a drunken sailor. How do you go through basically $20 Million in less then 10 years? This is 1970's $20 Million dollars too when you had lower taxes. Morons! Read the transcript of the case, Read Todd's book, Listen to interviews with Gary for 23+ years! These 2 were stage parents that just ran their dying son into the ground, putting him bad tv movies, guest spots on tv shows, anything and everything to get more and more money! Ignore how he was throwing up and basically dying from his kidney problems. Let's not re-write history! You both will be in hell with that Buck Tooth exwife of his. I hope you enjoy the heat!

I'd say that Gary was a meal ticket ever since he was a baby! And even in death, he's STILL a meal ticket!! Years from now after his service takes place, he'll STILL be a meal ticket!!! And as long as his greedy ex thinks that there still might be a chance for her to greedily gain anything that he leaves, he'll STILL BE A MEAL TICKET. And that's the way that it was - February 8, 1968, the day that Gary Coleman was born!! His life, sadly, was nothing but a shambles and it seems that he never even got a break. He might have hated the world, but only because so many people have done him so wrong! It is truly a very sad state of affairs when a child actor is used for a meal ticket, and then he continues to be a meal ticket throughout his entire life!! Shame!

This part always confused me. What did Gary's parents spend the money on? I heard that both parents had to go back to work. |

The lawyers themselves, whoever they are, all got a pretty healthy cut, I'm sure. By the time that they're done, there isn't much left. And that was in '89 when Gary sued his parents, so by standards, that is '80s dollars. Inflation knows no bounds! Imagine if he were still alive right now and sued them even today. If you thought THAT was expensive back then, think how much he would have paid out by TODAYS standards if he filed the lawsuit now. WOW!!!

I looked on the internet to get more information on this. I remember one of Gary's cousins said that Gary's handlers were responsible for a lot of the financial problems. From what I got the parent controlled the money and they barred Gary from any decision making. This caused Gary to be angry. I don't think stole was ever the right word. Here is what I found from a Boston publication. Quote:
