Movie Reviews: Killers

Killers, starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, wasn’t screened in advance for critics. Lionsgate set up late screenings on Friday morning for them instead.

(Jason Anderson in the Toronto Star remarked: “Killers arrived in theaters this weekend sporting the kind of anti-buzz that can only be created by minimal marketing, no press screenings and poisonous word-of-mouth.”)

It’s clear that many critics returned the cold shoulder and didn’t bother attending the press screenings at all. Those who did duly typed out the kind of desultory notices that Lionsgate no doubt expected.

Stephen Cole in the Toronto Globe and Mail dismissed it as a “flyweight comedy.”

Joe Neumaier in the New York Daily News described it as a “misfire.” and Robert Abele in the Los Angeles Times called it “an empty summer hodgepodge of stale romantic comedy exchanges, witlessness and lackluster action.”

But Janet Catsoulis in the New York Times pulled out all stops to berate the makers of this movie: “Unless you’re trapped on an airplane or enjoying movie night at the penitentiary, you have no excuse for watching Killers,” she wrote, labeling the movie, “a brain-deadening collision of high concept and low standards.”

I saw it only because my Tom ( Selleck ) is in it. The movie was okay. I felt it could have been written better. Tom you were great!

I'm gonna wait for it to come to video LOL. Katherine Heigl is hot but most of her movies suck.

I saw The Killers last weekend and it sucks.

Killers wasn't the greatest, but I never got bored watching it so that must mean something.

As someone said above, it's only good for Selleck.

Well i was bored watching it hahahahahahahahahaha. Katherine Heigl is hot but her movies suck. Her best one is Steven Seagal's Under Siege 2 LOL.
