Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone might be able to help me out putting together a list of UM cases that have happened right here in my home state. Washington state that is. I know there have been quite a few. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Michale Riemer case was in Washington. The murders of Rochelle Robinson & Michael Johnson occured in Tacoma Washington. D.B. Cooper jumped somewhere over washington. Kurt Cobain died in Seattle. Leah Roberts was last known to have been in Washington. Mike Emmert was murdered in Washington State. Russell Evans was killed in Spokane.

I knew there would be some I wasn't aware of. I knew of DB Cooper and the Rochelle Robinson & Michael Johnson murders in tacoma (just a few minutes from where I sit right now).
In fact i am actually friends with Kevin who was Rochelle Robinson's friend and was interviewed for the segment. Funny thing about that is that I had seen the segment then met him a few years later (without realizing anything about it) and then saw the segment on liftime and recognized him. Last I heard from him, there was nothing new to report (in case anyone is wondering). Anyway, the spokane death of Russell Evans I was aware of as well as the "Goo" and Kurt Cobain, but i am not familiar with the others mentioned (at least not by names). Does anyone have any details on Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylonberg, Kyra Cook, Michale Riemer, Leah Roberts , Mike Emmert? Also I seem to remember another case that wasn't shown often on Lifetime that involved an officer being shot while on patrol at night (outside of a dairy or factory or something) and it also seems that case was related to a pistol being dumped into a river by police (who were somehow involved in the death) and the pistol was found decades later. Am I mistaken about this case? I remember those details, but the names escape me. |

I lived in WA for 9 years
Lived in Kent for two years and Puyallup (South Hill) for 7 years Worked in Seattle and Covington I moved back to my hometown of Redding CA 3 years ago but I really liked living in the PNW and enjoyed Seattle very much In fact I came to Seattle not really liking any of the sports team except the Sonics, when I left Seattle I was a fan of the Seahawks, Mariners and Sonics as the company I was with had season tickets to all three and it was my luck that my company had a small amount of sports fans so I got to go to 100s of games I still miss Seattle, but Redding is my city and im where I belong |

Mia Zapata was killed in Seattle and featured on UM. Alvin, I understand where you're coming from. I've lived here for 9 years, and while there's a lot that I love about Seattle, I still get homesick for Illinois every summer like clockwork. <sigh>Charli-Ann |

Who was the young woman who was travelling on her own and her car was found abandoned, north of Seattle (maybe on the way to Mt. Baker)?
edit - Leah Roberts, nevermind. |

BUMP
I am still hoping to find some info on this one. Anyone know? (see below from a previous post) "Also I seem to remember another case that wasn't shown often on Lifetime that involved an officer being shot while on patrol at night (outside of a dairy or factory or something) and it also seems that case was related to a pistol being dumped into a river by police (who were somehow involved in the death) and the pistol was found decades later. This was the case of George Coniff, a sheriff (or maybe policeman?) in Newport, WA, near Spokane. He was killed during the robbery of a dairy back in the '30s. There were rumors of a cover-up by the police of the killers. Charli-Ann |

Off topic, Cooper Days was celebrated in SW Washington where he supposedly jumped. I don't know if it still is though. Also, on the 'Psychics' boxed set, a case was portrayed where a young couple went into the mountains, skiing, I think and on their way home the car lost control off a bridge I think. The husband died and he apparently appeared to her after. They were from a suburb of Seattle. |
