If they couldn't figure out a washing machine (and they couldn't! Remember when the Drysdales gave them one for Christmas?) they certainly would never figure out a computer. As soon as he was told to log on you know Jethro would hit the thing with a piece of firewood!

Or watching them use a cell phone. The show wouldn't work today it was too tame by todays standards.

Miss Jane would constantly be on her cell phone and laptop. There would be an episode where she would try unsuccessfully to teach the Clampetts about modern technology.

The truck would have to be modified to meet modern, California exhaust emissions standards...

Granny would likely run afowl of PETA due to her opossum, chicken hawk, buzzard, and gopher derived foods...

Gun control activists would not be too pleased with the Clampetts' rifles and Granny's shotgun...

The "carbon footprint" of the Clampett Mansion would come under scrutiny...

Man I love those stupid Clampetts they rocked! Especially Jethro with his 6th grade education his stupidity plus Granny's crankiness stole the show! They show have spun of a this show and the title should be Called Granny Goes Digital in California!. The pilot episode would have Granny figuring out a cell phone and a laptop and ipod.

Here's some dialogue

Miss Jane: Granny I want to give you this laptop
Granny: You ain't fixin to sit in my la
Miss Jane: Of Course not I'm talking about this machine
Granny: And what am I supposed to do with that? I ain't fixin to let that talkin sit on my lap
Miss Jane: But Granny
Granny: You get out of here with the hog stomach of a machine before we commence to start wrastling
Miss Jane: Very well then I'm off
Granny: Miss Jane tell Mr.Drysdale if he brings one more of those fancy hoity toity gadgets you city people use I get my shot gun and learn him a thing or two about southern gadgets.

Instead of operating a still, Granny would be growing medical marijuana.

Knowing todays Hollywood's way of thinking the Clampetts would be the epitome of white trash, sister humping, hilljack stereotype of yayhoos to have ever crossed the Mississippi. Jed would be either a poacher or a moonshiner along with Granny and possibly grow a little weed on the side, Jethro would either be an outlaw biker methhead or a neo Nazi methhead sex offender, Ellie Mae would be running around wearing Daisy Dukes and a tank tops acting like a cross between Joy Turner and Baby of Devils Rejects fame, MR. Drysdale would be a greedy money hungry evil capitalist with underworld connections, Jane Hathaway would be bi-curious. The show will be full of sex jokes, jokes about Jethro not being able to score pc messages, Bush jokes, and everything else that makes todays TV the vast wasteland that it is.
