Was it the second verse of the opening theme sung by Janet DuBois?The closing,also sung(well,actually hummed -"mmmmmmyeah....,.....Movin,Movin' on Up.....)by Janet DuBois,very soulful?

Yes, Ja'Net DuBois sang both the opening and closing themes.
