He has played so many memorable characters, from Clayton, to Odo of Deep Space Nine, and Louis the French chef in The Little Mermaid.

Happy Birthday to a great, underrated actor! I've never seen a misstep from him.

Yesssss...it was *The Imaginary Invalid*! ![]() Awww, how sad that we doesn't knew each other at that time, we could have meet. ![]() I was in D.C from July23 till July29 and I saw René in four appearances. The first one was the best!!! ![]() I had a seat in the second row on the left side and in one scene he was so close to me, only two meters away! He's so very beautiful and he smelled so good. I could have devoured him completely.... ![]() I was in heaven!!! D.C. was one of the best trips in my life. The last show I saw was on my birthday, July27. It was the best gift I ever got.

Yeah, I saw the July 12th show. I'll tell you what remains a painful memory.
I WAS SUPPOSED TO MEET HIM. The woman who runs his fan club had me on the backstage list. I was back there but he peeked his head in and out and then disappeared back to the dressing room. I did not realize he was looking for me and my friend (it truly looked as if he was looking for someone he knew, like a stagehand or someone to help him with something, because he did not actually enter the room but just popped his head in the door, looking around briefly). So I missed out. But I'm sure there will be another time. At any rate that was a fantastic performance.

Oh, how unfortunate for you that he doesn't realize his fan in that moment.
I didn't met him either. At that time, when I was in D.C. to see him in this Moličre play I was so much in love with him, it was not possible for me. I would have rather died than to meet him! Impossible! I was alone in the theatre and was already soooo afraid just sitting there in his audience! So I could have never talked to him. Imagine, with my broken english, and stuttering! I would have made a complete fool of myself!Oh god, and how should I live with such a debakle? For the rest of my life?! No. When I saw him acting on stage I got all I ever wanted and I was completely enchanted by what he gave to me. It was just wonderful! I think I'll never see him again. But I hope and pray to see him at least playing a main-character in a TV show (perhaps a comedy!!!) or in a movie. But what I most dream of would be a book, some kind of memoirs written by himself. He had so many many amazing Hollywood-stories to tell the world and I'm sure that he got writing-talent, his father was a journalist and author. That would be great! Well, for you, Lisa, I'll cross my fingers for the next time. I'm sure you'll meet him soon and then he'll realize his BensonFan. You only have to greet him with three little words: Clayton! Clayton! Clayton!
