Maybe Next Year

I was very excited when I learned that Helen Hunt was being considered for the new "Parenthood" series! I was devastated when she did not make it! However, I watched every episode regardless. I think that it is a pretty decent show. Long before I knew who Helen Hunt was, however, I was a big fan of "Gimme a Break!". It was only after I learned to use the Internet that I learned the Helen was considered for the part of Katie from that series! That being the case, this is Helen's second rejection that I know of. In any event, the final episode of the first season of that show was called "The Unmarried Couple". In this episode Helen made a guest appearance as Katie's pregnant friend Valerie. Although I saw the episode as a teenager, I did not figure out who Valerie was until I was in my early thirties! I was thinking that, since Helen made a guest appearance on that show after being turned down for one of the starring roles, maybe she can do the same on an episode of "Parenthood". However, I recently saw the final episode for this year and, in this entire season, Helen was nowhere to be found! However, it is my understanding that the show is being renewed for another season. Maybe this time around they will find a cameo appearance for good old Helen!
