LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hollywood actor Dennis Hopper, best known for directing and starring in the 1969 cult classic “Easy Rider,” died Saturday at his home in Venice, California, from complications of prostate cancer, a friend told Reuters. Hopper was 74.

The hard-living screen icon died at 8:15 a.m. PDT , surrounded by family and friends, said the friend, Alex Hitz.

Hopper was certainly a unique person, and he had a way of making his screen presence really imposing and scary. I have to admit I've only seen a few of his flicks, but they sure made an impression.

Dennis Hopper had a career laster for five and a half decades. His last two wives had only lived to see four of them. He was in a dispute with his last wife, and Hopper should have had the chance to divorce Duffy before he passed. May-December marriage is evil if the younger spouse didn't live to see the beginning of an actor's career.

When it comes to May-December relationships... Don't hate the entertainer...hate the spouse.

This guy was awesome. One of the few actors, I think, that is enjoyable to watch no matter how bad the movie is.

It's also the only one of the series different compared to the rest.

All of the others were pretty much re-doings of the original; travelers get lost, stumble upon crazy family's house, chasing, "dinner scene", and female escape.
