Sci Fi Classic, "Logan's Run" Getting Remade - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Carl Rinsch is reportedly in talks to direct 'Logan's Run,' a remake of the 1976 film starring Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Farrah Fawcett, according to Heat Vision.

The reboot has been in the reworks for nearly two decades, with a number of names attached to direct it along the way, from Byan Singer ('Superman Returns'), to 'Tron Legacy''s Joseph Kosinski.

The film, about a "future society that demands the death of everyone upon reaching a certain age," is based on the 1967 book by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson.

Rinsch was previously attached to direct the upcoming 'Alien' prequel, and is currently eyeing Universal's '47 Ronan.'

No word on yet on who would play the roles originated by York, Agutter and Fawcett. According to the report, a new script will be written, should Warner Bros. be able to secure Rinsch.

Booooo...how can they possibly top Peter Ustinov with all his cats?? Also one of my favorite movie quotes of all time came from Logan's Run. "Beloved husband...beloved wife...but what does it mean?"

Yeah, I wish they'd stop trying to remake films that were fine to begin with. I guess in one sense LR is more relevant now than ever, with our youth obsessed culture and a society that disdains individual freedom, so there MIGHT be something to explore there, but I think I'd still rather rent the original.
