Rolleyes Teacher Hands Out Porn DVD Instead of School Pictures

http://www.fox8.com/news/wjw-news-sc...,3202507.story

Staff Writer
2:05 PM EDT, May 26, 2010

A second grade student attending a school outside Tampa received an unwelcome surprise in a DVD she thought contained class pictures.

According to a MyFoxTampa report, the DVD instead contained an adult pornographic commercial.

Police investigating the incident say the mix-up occurred when the student's teacher was making DVD copies at her home. Police say she burned 19 DVD's to hand out to students. The teacher's husband was helping her package the DVD's to be handed out at school and accidentally grabbed a DVD from his collection of pornography.

According to the MyFoxTampa report, investigators can not prove criminal intent, so no charges will be filed against the teacher.

The school district will decide in the next several days if the teacher will face any disciplinary action.

What a teacher does outside of school and in their homes is their own personal business. If a teacher on their spare time wants to sit around and watch porn, they got the right.

That said they should keep their personal life seperate from their school life.

How in the hell could this teacher make a mistake like this.

If it was an honest mistake I would reccomend a suspension.

Now if turns out this was intentional then fire this teacher ASAP, a person like that should not be around children.

What is going on here with some teachers, and their sexual urges. If they are like that they should be nowhere near students.

This is horrible! I would be mortified if my child came home from school with something like that.

I will say though that from the article it sounds like an honest mistake. The teacher was rushing around completing the DVDs for her students, probably rushed for time since it was the end of the school year. The article says her husband was helping and accidently packaged one of his own DVDs. I can really see something like that happening. I feel bad for the teacher because I think it was probably an accident and it could ruin her career.

Even though it was a mistake, she should have some sort of consequence for this because a teacher handing out porn, accidently or not, is unacceptable. She should probably be put on probation by the school district and closely monitored. If I were this teacher I would issue a public apology, never again burn DVDs at home to be distributed at school, and be really pissed off at my husband for a long time.

That sums up my feelings pretty well.

I'd add that this kind of thing is probably going to keep happening because of the nature of technology in the modern world (there wasn't much chance of substituting a PLAYBOY for school pics in the 50s/60s/70s/80s because nothing was on DVD). People are always going to purchase adult material, whatever one's personal feelings about it. The key is that people need to be really, really careful with their data and not mix things that are OK for public viewing with those that aren't.

(For the ladies; how many flowers, candelight dinners, foot massages, weekend trips to bed and breakfast hotels, and chick flicks would ever be enough to redeem this poor slob of a husband? )
