Senior Prank: Baby Lambs Spray-Painted, Left at School
http://www.fox8.com/news/offbeat/wjw...,6225260.story
Dave Nethers Fox 8 Reporter 3:12 PM EDT, May 19, 2010 GREEN, Ohio - As part of a senior prank, two lambs, each only days old, were found outside Green High School with "2010" spray painted on their wool. "They were in the courtyard in the morning," Green Superintendent Michael Nutter told Fox 8 News. "The high school principal saw them around 7:00 a.m. some of the kids saw them, you know that's the start of our school day." Not knowing where the animals came from, the school contacted Dale Rohr, a farmer in nearby Canal Fulton who raises lambs, asking if he would bottle feed the little ones for them. He agreed, not realizing that they had been stolen from his own farm. "I got 20-some of them and to look into the pen you see all different sizes," Rohr told Fox 8 News on Wednesday. "I didn't really miss them until he called and said they got two lambs up there." Rhor said lambs know their own young and will not nurse others. As soon as the two baby lambs were brought to his farm they went right to their mother who let them nurse. "I knew right away they were hers," added Rohr. On Thursday, the school's senior class was out in the community for what they call "Senior Pay Back Day", a day when they collectively do most of the mulching for the city of Green and other needed chores as a way to give back something to the community. Joining them, the school's superintendent said he is proud of the class of 2010, but the district cannot condone their prank. "We're still looking to see who did it, still looking at some video tape and we are going to find out who did it," Nutter said. Rohr says the paint on the lambs wool will not harm them, but he said they could not have been away from their mother for more than half a day. The district is not commenting on what discipline, if any, the guilty parties will face. But Rohr says he has heard they might have their diplomas held back. "They should be disciplined," Rohr said. "But if they are seniors, they shouldn't hold back their diplomas for something like that because they didn't realize the danger they were putting the lambs in." On Thursday, the small lambs were happily roaming the pasture with their mother. Rohr says the whole family is doing just fine, and he's just happy to have them back unharmed. While school administrators cannot condone the prank, Green's principal, Joe Nicklos, says they could have done much worse and overall is proud of the class of 2010. "Its a great class and a class that through their four years has given a lot to the school," said Nicklos, "so we appreciate what they have done through the years." |

Spray painting walls is one thing. I am no animal rights person by any means, but this is going too far.

Just another example of idiots acting before thinking (and more than likely, caring) about the consequences of their actions.
I'm really getting tired of letting people that do things like this off easily. What kind of world do we live in where the only thing that EVER seems to matter to people is how something will make them feel, immediately?

This is one rare time where I'd like to see PETA step in and annoy the crap out of these kids. I bet they'd learn their lesson!!!
