Man Hides Crack Pipe in Police Car After Arrest

By Dan Jovic | dan.jovic@fox8.com 2:47 PM EDT, May 18, 2010 AKRON, Ohio -- An Akron man taken into custody by police for allegedly stabbing a man in the neck on Monday evening picked an odd spot to hide a piece of drug paraphernalia he was carrying, the back of a police cruiser. According to Akron Police, John T. Johnson, 50, of Grant Street in Akron, was arrested after a fight with another man. Police say during the fight Johnson stabbed Fredrick A. Frazier, 39, of Carpenter Street in Akron, in the neck. After being arrested and taken to Akron Police headquarters for questioning, Johnson told police he hid a crack pipe under the back seat of the cruiser. Police found the pipe and charged Johnson with possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to felonious assault for his role in the stabbing. Johnson was booked at the Summit County Jail where he remains in custody. Frazier was transported to Akron General Medical Center. Police say his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. |
