wow 20 years ago already, I have this movie and watched it last year while putting it to DVD and actually enjoyed it more the second time around, I also have a 80's Nick @ Nite reunion special they did with cast members hosted by Marc Summers from about a year before the movie was done as they announce plans were in the works. Now if we could only get the remaining seasons to be released on DVD!

I remember seeing that movie when it first aired, it was even more AWFUL than "THE RETURN OF THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" 10 years earlier, and that HORRIBLE "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" theatrical movie!!

i didnt think it was all that bad. I didnt see it on tv when it first aired though. that would have been kinda hard, seeing i wasnt born yet. I was just introduced to GA about 3 or 4 years ago. I'm 14. when i found out there was a reunion movie, i was so excited. i tried to find it everywhere online. but then i finally found it on tv. it's kinda corny, but still a good movie. if you are a TRUE GA fan, you'll watch it anyway.

Wow, that means that it was 45 years ago that GA started. Idk why, but I find that weird to think about. Its even weirder when you watch the movie and then go back and watch one of the first episodes.

I only saw the reunion movie once when it originally aired and I thought it was pretty good. The Beverly Hillbillies one was terrible though.

I did not see "The Return of the Beverly Hillbillies",but DID see "Return to Green Acres",and no,it WASN'T very good, and was kind of mean-spirited,something that the series wasn't.

Right, they took one of his traits and stretched it so that it would fit the story line. Honestly, I think they could have found a better way to get all of Hooterville for sale rather than going through Mr Haney.

I agree. No one but Oliver seem to do business with him and you would think twenty-five years later they would see Mr. Haney as a dishonest businessman, but I agree that Mr. Haney in the movie was pure evil and in the show he came across just a man that needed money and was dumb. I saw the movie and liked seeing everyone again but the plot was horrible. It was a shame the Petticoat Junction girls didn't have cameos. Overall, a C-.

Green Acres is in my top five shows and this movie was so different in tone from the series that it was just painful to watch. Also, sitcoms don't translate well to the longer form. I would rather not watch my favorites come back at all than in some diminished form. Even worse, of course, are remakes with new actors.

I was glad that they moved back to New York. Mr. Haney? Bless his heart. LOL. Now that I've seen the movie again after 24 years? I see that his movie was a little watered down in quality. It also would have been nice to have seen characters from Petticoat Junction at least make a cameo (besides Sam Drucker). That is just a little extra for me.
