Has anyone viewed these yet? I was just curious what the opinions were on the discs. I have mine ordered but they have not arrived yet. Just curious!

I tend to like these specials a bit more than the "Color Honeymooners" Musical episodes. I think they are better written, funnier, and the cast seems to be more at ease. I still think with the musical episodes they were trying to hard - especially the singing. The continual combing of the mustache does get old - but Gleason is the only 1 who can pull it off.
I am looking forward to the 2 Christmas specials & the 7 color shorts yet to be released. BTW - Does anyones copy of the "Valentine" special have the lines thru the entire special? |

UPS delivered the 2 DVDs yesterday but I have not had a chance to look at them yet. When I take a look at them I'll watch for the lines through the Valentines special, and report back. It could just be the videotape aging.

Yes I did, but I will admit I didn't pay as close attention to the shows since I've already seen these many times before. However, the first thing that jumped out at me was how good the shows do look. Sure there are some lines in the shows, but nothing that distracts from watching. In fact, they look on par with shows shot on videotape in the 1970s. In my opinion, "The Second Honeymoon" looks better than most shows from that era, to my eyes certainly better than "All In The Family" looks today. Who knows what kind of tape was used, or how the shows were stored, etc. But overall I think they look very good and was happy to see them finally released on the home video market after all this time.
