I think it's a pretty good commercial. My favorite part is when Barney (in disguise) tells Mr. Slate, "Drink your Busch, stranger. It'll do ya good".

Anheuser-Busch's ad agency, Gardner Advertising, was commissioned to create a 20 minute promotional film for a Busch Beer sales meeting, concerning their upcoming 1967 TV and radio ad campaign for Busch {"When You're Due For A Beer, Busch Does It!"}. They got together with Hanna-Barbera to produce one featuring "The Flintstones", which had recently ended production on their own series after six years. Almost all of the key voices- Alan Reed, Mel Blanc, John Stephenson, and Gerry Johnson- were present. Jean VanderPyl, however, was unable to participate, so Gerry doubled as Betty and Wilma's voices. Gerald Mohr was the narrator (he later voiced "Reed Richards" in H-B's 1967 version of "THE FANTASTIC FOUR"). Ted Nichols wrote the music score, with several of Hoyt Curtin's earlier cues thrown in. Carlo Vinci was a key animator...

...during the first two seasons of the series (1960-'62), R.J. Reynolds [Winston] was an "alternate sponsor" (with primary advertiser Miles Laboratories {One-A-Day, Alka-Seltzer})- and as such, the custom was for the star and/or cast to appear in an "integrated commercial" for the sponsor's product(s) at the end of the show. So, Fred and Barney did their part to "push" Winston cigarettes, as "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" later did at the end of their program. That's how much influence advertisers had on TV in those days...

It's strange seeing Fred and Barney plugging Winston Cigarettes, but then we tend to think of The Flinstones as a kid's show (which later on it was marketed as) but during the ABC run in the 60's it was indeed marketed as an adult show, hence the plugs.
