Some of my favorite Mexican horror films.
Veneno para las hadas (1984 aka Poison For The Fairies) In 1965 Mexico City at an all girls school- two girls meet, one wants to become a witch. Together they start playing deadly games. Ladrones de tumbas (1990 aka Grave Robbers) Two grave robbers and their girl friends learn the hard way to not steal from long dead evil monks. Gory slasher. Cementerio del terror (1985 aka Cemetery of Terror) A cross between The Evil Dead and Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. Group of partying teens read from a magic book bringing back to life a dead killer and all the residents of the nearby cemetery. Starring Hugo Stiglitz- Mexico's genre star. Vacaciones de terror (1989 aka Vacations of Terror) Little girl finds a doll while on family vacation. The doll of course is possessed by a long dead witch. Vacaciones de terror 2 (1991 aka Vacations of Terror 2) The doll is back, but this time it turns into a ravenous lizard-creature and goes on a bloody rampage at a birthday party. Trampa infernal (1990 aka Hell Trap) Group of friends cross paths with a psychotic Vietnam Vet in the Mexican forest. Dimensiones ocultas (1988 aka Don't Panic) Mexico's version of Witchboard. Teen unleashes evil Virgil from his Ouija board he just received for his birthday. Cronos (1993) Guillermo del Toro's vampire tale. With Ron Perlman and Claudio Brooks. |
