Remembered fondly by legions of baby boomers, "Marcus Welby, M.D." aired as an ABC TV series from 1969 to 1976, starring Robert Young as the fatherly family doc who's assisted by the young and handsome Dr. Steven Kiley (James Brolin).
Commended for its realistic depiction of medical practice, the show was unafraid to tackle sensitive health care issues of the day. Notable guest stars in the first season include Dolores del Rio and Anne Baxter. DVD release includes the 2-hour pilot “A Matter of Humanities”. |
