1-Which season of the Black and White ABC years,did Stanley Livingston(Chip)'s real-life brother Barry Livingston play Chip's friend Ernie Thompson(later his brother when Steve adopted him)make his FIRST appearance?& 2)In the very early episodes of the ABC black and white years,Bub 's name was Michael Francis 0"Casey.But in later ABC black and white episodes,it was William(Bill)Michael Francis 0"Casey.Which was it?Michael Francis or William Michael Francis O'Casey?

1. The character Ernie was introduced in Season 4. He wasn't adopted by the Douglas Family until Season 6, which was the first season filmed in color.

2. ????? But since first son Mike Douglas was named after Bub, IIRC, I tend to go with Michael -- not preceded by William.
