1. Name at least two episodes of Ozzie and Harriet where Rick and Kris's wedding is the focal point.
2. In what episode does Ozzie play the guitar and sing? 3. In whose house does the Barbershop Quartet rehearse in, in the episode " The Magic of Three? 4. In what episode does Thorny try to trick Ozzie into thinking he has lost some weight? 5. In what episode do the fraternity brothers try to trick their fathers in contributing money to their latest fund raising effort? Discussion Question: Do you think that Don DeFore was ever adequately replaced as Ozzie's best friend and main foil on the show? Also, do you think that DeFore's character of "Thorny" getting too popular on the show could have hastened his exit? |

Question 1-- Two episodes focusing on Rick and Kris' wedding were Ricks Wedding Ring and I'm not sure about the name of the second one, but it's the one where Kris is disappointed that they didn't get a picture of her and Rick with the wedding cake. That was always a favorite of my sisters and I. We still quote Wally.. " And even the cake was a fake..da da da da dadada and even the cake was a fake."
Personally, I like the group of friends better than Thorny. I liked the feeling of a whole entire neighborhood I liked all the different guys hanging out all together, having their wives and kids involved, the different kids in the neighborhood stopping by. They really had a ton of recurring characters and it was really like watching a whole little community kinda like The Andy Griffith Show. |

Q#3, they rehearse in Darby's house (where Ozzie asks Darb if he could sing a little better lol)

From the bios I read on Rick, it seemed Don's exit had to do with salary negotiations & that Ozzie didn't like the way Don went about this . I don't think Don overshadowed anyone on the show, and there's no way he overshadowed Rick - anyways it was likely time for Don to move on to bigger and better things - which he did with Hazel - nicely holding his own with the ultra-talented Shirely Booth. |

Q # 2 -- Ozzie plays guitar and sings "Baby I'm Sorry" in the episode "The Christmas Tree Lot," if memory serves me correctly, as well as in one episode whose title I can't recall. That song might have even been on the "Ozzie and Harriet" LP that Imperial Records (Ricky's label the time) released in 1957, although I'm not sure since I unfortunately don't have that LP. (And it's not on CD lol...I was actually hoping that Shout Factory would include it as a bonus on one of their DVD sets--the whole album is no longer than a radio show episode--but it never happened and it doesn't look like we'll see any more SF sets, alas.)
