Default the 20 worst Saturday morning cartoons

The 20 Worst Saturday Morning Cartoons
March 9, 2010 | Author: K. Thor Jensen | Tags: 20 Worst, Comedy, Fail

You know, it’s easy to look back at the past through rose-colored glasses and claim that everything was better when we were kids, but guess what: it wasn’t. In fact, things were objectively worse in a lot of ways (are you really going to tell me that a broken-down Nintendo Entertainment System is better than an Xbox 360?). But one thing will always be true: Saturday morning cartoons suck.

For every masterpiece like a Ren & Stimpy, there’s 20 completely abysmal abortions that kids watch because kids are stupid. In fact, here’s the 20 worst Saturday morning cartoons now!

I have seen Johnny Test - completely atrocious. Not funny or charming at all.

I'd say this article sucks a lot more than Saturday morning cartoons ever did.

Classics like Ren and Stimpy? Blech. Ugly, gross and distorted pets with annoying voices and disgusting habits. I'll take Scooby and the gang any day. Hell, I'll take Jabberjaw!

Love live Saturday morning cartoons!

i agree with you on ren and stimpy. actually, i liked it somewhat, but it was not by any means a classic.

captain planet would be on my list of worst cartoons. pure communist, hippie-loving claptrap. i've never even seen most of the ones featured on here.

saturday morning cartoons don't suck. well not the ones from 60s- late 90s.

I remember seeing that Gary Coleman cartoon and it was quite bad. Another cartoon that should be on that list is Kid Video. Man was that show stupid.

My brother LOVED "ProStars" and I watched "Hammerman" which probably ruined his career.

And I've seen some of "Yo Yogi" and one of the recurring characters was Loopy de Loop (I'm sorry, I'm a die-hard fan of Loopy) and he would play the chef that gets to Yogi's nerves when there's an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet. Loopy doesn't sound right in that cartoon and that was the only thing Hanna-Barbera would put him in!

I loved Turbo Teen, that was one of my favorites as a kid.

I wonder if whoever made the list actually watched these shows when they were on? Or are going by what they've read and heard?

I don't remember the Gary Coleman cartoon because I didn't discover Different Strokes until after his cartoon was cancelled-lol

Jabberjaw sucked as did Scooby. Both ripoffs of Ruff and Reddy and Nancy Drew. The designs on the 70s cartoons were terrible. If I had a list of the worst cartoons it would be a laundry list and be hard to load on a weak browser ! [It includes to boot ALL 80s cartoons, sorry.]

Beauty, my friend, is as always, in the eye of the beholder. I'd say your assertion about Scooby ripping off Ruff and Reddy and Nancy Drew is QUITE a stretch, but even if I agreed, it wouldn't matter, since nearly everything created by 20th century pop culture is a ripoff of something else. I also totally disagree with your assessment of 70's cartoons in general.

But to each his own!
