Question Season 4 - Opening credits / NYC locations?

I've been watching the opening credits for RHODA (Season 4) in which the producers wisely ditched the scenes from her show, and replaced them with scenes of Harper in Manhattan. These of course were shot in 1977, and much has changed. But I think I still recognize some of them, and wondering if any one here can help or offer corrections/more information PLEASE!

The opening shot is Rhoda having her photo taken on a statue (sister Brenda is taking the photo). I'm positive I have been to this statue in Central Park, but can't recall where in CP. Any help?

Next shot is Rhoda meeting her sister Brenda for lunch by a fountain. I think this is Rockefeller Center, but I'mnot 100% positive. Any help?

Next is Rhoda running for the subway, by the signage it says she's at 57th Street.

Next shot is Rhoda running across the street (another woman is by her side). It looks like she's on 9th Ave with the Port Authority in the background (I believe the PA was fairly new at the time) but I'm not positive. Any help ?

Next is Rhoda shopping at the corner fruit market. The canopy says "Vinnie's Fruit Market" and "Open 24 hours"...not sure where the location is of this. Any ideas?

She is then walking by a storefront with a canopy that says "Tepper" (later, this building is seen as the 'location shot' for Doyle Costume Company, located upstairs in this building. If I'm not mistaken, Tepper is an auction house. Not quite positive about the location. Any info?

Next is a shot of an accessory boutique called 'Sermoneta' which is a well-known women's accessories store on Madison/58th. The store in the scene looks like it's a downstairs store (very well could have been in the 70s) though now it's street-level.

The next shot is "First Women's Bank" (with a reflection of 'McShane Moving' in the window) is a bank which opened on 57th Street in Manhattan in 1975, started by some high-profile Manhattan women, and specializing in banking services for women who were shunned by bigger banks. (Sadly, the bank failed within a few years due to financial mismanagement). I believe it is now a Chase Bank.

"McShane Moving & Storage" is still in business, located in the lower E. 30s in Manhattan.

The closing shot is Rhoda and Brenda returning home to their building, the canopy says "332", I believe it was said once before that this was an actual building exterior on W. 58th. Any info?

SO IT LOOKS LIKE many of these shots were done in the 57th/58th St area, with some shots in lower Manhattan? Anymore info would be greatly appreciated!

I know where Vinnie's Fruit Market used to be......that was my father's Market. His market was shot 2 different opening credits as I remember but the one I believe you are speaking of is after she passes the Port Authority and goes to a corner market with a red canopy correct? That was located in Hells Kitchen on the corner of W39th and 9ave.....Lots of memories for my family in that area. I am actually looking for another clip where she walks past I believe a different location he had, and throws up an orange, and one of his workers caught it. Anyone know where I can get my hands on these clips? It would be a nice surprise for my dad. thanks

Not the best image quality, but does this help?

A better option would be to wait a couple weeks because Season Four will be available on DVD on September 21: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Rhoda-Season-4/14321

It's very cool that you have a family connection to this opening, and memories to go along with it.

Oh wow! Your dad owned Vinnie's Market? Were you around when the opening shots were taken that year? It looked like quite a bit was filmmed around the PA at the time (and I think the PA was renovated that year to it's present structure). I'm around 39th and 9th quite a bit when I'm in NYC - I ususally cut across that way from PA to the Javitz Center. I'm trying to figure out what's there now - I'm thinking an empty lot or autobody shop?
