Hi I am new to message boards, but I have a trivia question about the Andy Griffith Christmas show, the one where Ben Weaver steals a bench in order to get arrested. Would anyone know how much Andy initially fined him for it? I'd appreciate any help-- Thanks!

Hey!
I think he was fined $20.00. Ellie payed it, I think. Ben was a very lonely man, and Andy realized that Ben just wanted to get arrested because he wanted to be with people. I think Ben just stayed in the cell all night. He had drunk a whole bottle of something and drifted off to sleep. I just reread over your question. The scene as I remember it, Ben walks off with the bench. Andy is about to arrest him, and Ellie says, "After all it is Christmas." Andy hands the bench over to Ben. Then another incident happens where Ellie pays Andy the fine for Ben. I hope I haven't confused you! |

Over the Internet I could find information out about the episode, it seemed like everything BUT the amount, which I needed for this trivia question.
THANK YOU JENNY!!! And Happy Holidays!!!

An episode I can watch endlessly, for the view we got of the outside of the Courthouse with Ben in the alley looking through the jail window.
Obviously, Floyd's barbershop isn't as large as the courthouse, leaving this outside area where Floyd apparently has a backyard area. Didn't I see an episode where Floyd mentioned having a rose bush "out back?" Definitely in the top ten Andy Griffith Show episodes. |
