What used to be on the FOX Channels before it came along in 1987? Or what was on your local FOX station before FOX came along?

Most FOX affiliates were originally independent. WPXT 51 in Portland was independent before FOX launched. Then in 2001 WPXT switched to The WB and by 2003 WPFO 23 (previously PAX) became the new FOX affiliate.

The Fox station I watch (KCPQ) in Seattle was an independent station before it became a Fox affiliate.

In my area the FOX station belonged to a local college, then turned into an independent station, then FOX.

There was nothing in my area before FOX. I remember when it was a big deal when FOX was 'assigned' to the channel...first addition in about thirty years!

my local FOX channel also used to be independant; as I recall they mostly showed reruns.

The FOX affiliate in my area (61, Hartford) started in 1984 as an independent. I remember when it first went on the air. It became a charter affiliate with FOX in 1986 when the network started.
