TV Guide Poll Reveals Fans Want Quincy Jones To Replace Simon Cowell On American Idol
Music mogul Quincy Jones has emerged as the fan favorite to replace Simon Cowell when the Brit departs "American Idol" this summer.
TV Guide magazine put forward 10 potential candidates for the soon-to-be vacant chair Cowell fills as a judge on the hit show, asked readers to vote for their favorite. Forty percent of voters chose producer Jones ahead of former "Idol" star Adam Lambert, Jamie Foxx and Mariah Carey's ex-husband, former music boss Tommy Mottola. The other six potential candidates were fellow music moguls Jimmy Iovine and Steve Lillywhite, who has launched an online campaign to land the top job, DJ Howard Stern, Madonna's partner and record boss Guy Oseary, "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest and the show's former judge Paula Abdul.
