J-Lo And 'The Losers' Bomb At The Box Office
How to Train Your Dragon took the top spot at the box office in its fifth weekend in theaters with only an estimated $15 million — still good enough to top rival offerings from CBS Films (The Back-Up Plan) and Warner Bros. (The Losers). The Back-Up Plan took second place with an estimated $12.2 million, a dollar amount that doesn’t bode well for Jennifer Lopez’s return to the romantic comedy genre. The other wide release, the R-rated The Losers, couldn’t even cross into double-digits with an estimated $9.6 million and a fourth place finish. The two new wide releases didn’t help the box office for the weekend, which was down close to 20% compared to last year at this time, when the Beyonce Knowles-starrer Obsessed bowed to $28 million.
Third place went to Date Night, which in its third weekend grossed an additional $10.6 million for a 37% drop. The film has now grossed over $63 million since it bowed in early April. Kick-Ass, last weekend’s box-office winner, dropped a steep 52% for a weekend take of an estimated $9.5 million and a fifth-place finish. The R-rated superhero send-up has now earned close to $35 million after two weekends in release. The rest of the top ten was dominated by holdovers—with the exception of Oceans, Disney’s nature documentary that opened on Thursday in honor of Earth Day. The G-rated flick took the eighth spot with $6 million for the three-day frame, with a total cume of $8.8 after four days in theaters. Spot six went to Clash of the Titans, which earned another $9 million its fourth weekend in theaters. The WB flick has now earned $145 million domestically. Sony Pictures’ holdover Death at a Funeral fell 51% its second weekend in theaters, earning an additional $8 million. The R-rated comedy starring Chris Rock has grossed $28 million since it bowed ten days ago. The ninth spot went to Disney’s Miley Cyrus-starrer The Last Song, which earned close to $4 million in its fourth weekend. The film, based on the Nicholas Sparks weepie has now grossed $55 million. Spot ten belonged also to Disney, with its Alice in Wonderland 3-D extravaganza still earning box office coin. In its eighth weekend in theaters, the PG-rated film grossed another $2.2 million putting its total domestic gross at $327 million. http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2010/...rs-underwhelm/ |

When I first heard that there was a movie coming out called "The Losers", I thought it was a history of Cleveland pro sports.

LOL@Catlover79 hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Who cares that The Losers didn't make a lot of money. I'm gonna see it next weekend. I love Zoe Saldana.

That's what you get for calling your movie The Losers
