I've been watching RHODA on ALN each morning (well, I DVR it) and I have to say - what horrible editing this network has done to the episodes.
Most of the eps do not start from the beginning - they jump right into a scene which is sometimes the punchline of a joke (like yesterday's show with Rhoda breaking out in a rash on her face). Same with the endings of a scene - it's abruptly cut off to make way for a commercial. The commercials are horrendous, and play over and over again - "Finally Fast Dot Com - Your computer's fast - finally!" , 'Sue Something F-B-Eye' , Chuck Norris promoting something and Grizzly Adams DVDs. It's the same with "Phyllis" - very sloppy editing. |

Its the same with the editing on Rhoda season1 DVD.
"Windows By Rhoda" has a very funny opening scene, with a pushy sales woman,in the DVD,thats just about all cut out. |

It really makes you wonder what is so difficult in editing the show? Supposedly they are working with the master tapes (at least for the DVD, correct?) so how difficult can it be? A college student could probably do a better job as a semester's final project!

Cable in the UK can be just as bad, when I bought the video of "Tenko",the BBC drama about female POWs,I came across scenes that had been cut from cable,to accomodate commercials.
